Geographical position
Eğirdir county is in 37 degree 50 410-38 degree 16 55 north latitute, 30 degree 57 43-30 degree 44 39 east longitute, it has established on 1414km2 area on Göller region in southwest Anatolie, Egirdir lakes over east to west coast which is fourth biggest lake of Turkiye. The county which is in boundary of Isparta is neighbour to, from North Yalvaç and Gelendost, from east Şarkikaraağaç and Aksu county, from South Sütçüler county, from southwest Burdur country, from west Isparta centrum and Atabey county, from northwest Senirken county.Surface shapesEgirdir lake which is cover a big area in North side of county and mountains which are seperate Isparta subsidence land and egirdir lake land is forming base of surface.Mountains: Northwest Barla Mountain (2799m), west Davras Mountain (2635m) and east, Dedegöl Mountain (2992m) which is cease these zone South direction. Large part of Eğirdir lake and all of Kovada lake in boundary of this county. Lowlands expanding and come together on river valley bases which spill to Eğirdir Lake.In general of Egirdir county, lands formed in 3. geological zone, occur white chalk limestone. Ground is quite untidy and uneven. İmportant plateaus are take part on mountains. Plateau which county landing on has a fragmently perspective containing slopes, mountains, untidy lands, lakes and few tight alluvion flat places.Soil is containing limestone and clay. Slope is changing to 40 percent. Some important flat places are landing between of mountains. Most important of these is Boğazova. Mountains are partially woodland. Generally red pine and black pine dominating and also oak, juniper, fir trees communities presents. The most important plateau is Barla plateau. Most important stream is Aksu.Climate : avarage altitude of egirdir is 918 meters. County, from side of climate in crossing land between of Mediterraneans and inner side of Anatolians climate. Depanding of this type of climate, in county we can’t tell about Mediterraneans rainy, inner Anatolians dry climate. Annually heat average is 11,9 degrees, and rain average is about 705 millimetres
